Save your character shards, speed ups, and hero and chief gear for Survival of the Fittest events. So if you’re playing the long game, this is where you can maximize your bang for your buck/yen/rupee/whatever. Chief gear and medal tags are the definitive means of boosting troop stats, in addition to heroes (specifically tier 3 heroes like Zoe). The most efficient way to purchase them is in the Crates of Choice sale as you can select the plans for 2 of the crate slots, and then choose alloys or glue or toolboxes for the other 3 slots depending on what you need. Chief gear is gated by plans that can ONLY be purchased, and top end chief gear takes ALOT of these plans. If you’re going to spend, focus your funds on chief gear packs and maybe chief medal tags and mercenary points. Then use your elite logs between Travis events. During the event, save your elite logs and spend extra stamina on killing zombies in the field to get more rucksacks. I only participate in Elite Hunter rallies, as they reward 4 or 5 Travis shards (regular hunters are only 2, so its more bang for my stamina). As noted in another thread, he’s a FTP dream, with his stamina cost reduction and March speed increase.
If you’re not aiming for the cutting edge (and you shouldn’t unless you’re a whale) then your chief level has only modest impact on your stats. To reduce the urge to spend them, I kept my farm at rank 12 until I hit HQ 22 and because the missions for upgrading each building give you xp badges, so I used the farm to “gate” them. Every time you level up it refills your stamina, so use them when you hit 0 stamina and need to refill (likely when you start adding daily plague zones to your rotation). Save ALL other character shards for Survival of the Fittest (see point 6 below). 7/5 would buy again.Ĭhoose 3 primary heroes (Sarge, Ghost, and Rusty are viable for FTP) and only use their shards to power them up.
The 2nd builder pack is worth so much more in terms of reducing your need to micromanage and speeding your growth rate.
